When I first started my journey as a career coach, I knew I wanted to make a real difference in people’s lives. But it wasn’t until I began working with Gen Z that I truly found my passion. There’s something about this generation—their honesty, their view of the world, their willingness to challenge the status quo—that inspires me every day. And when I combined this work with outdoor walking sessions in nature, I discovered a powerful and transformative approach that’s not just about career coaching, but about holistic growth.

Why Gen Z Inspires Me

Gen Z is unlike any generation before them. They’ve grown up in a world that’s constantly changing, where technology and social movements have shaped their views and values. What I love most about working with them is their desire for authenticity. Gen Z isn’t content with the status quo; they seek purpose and meaning in everything they do, especially in their careers.

This generation is incredibly self-aware. They understand the importance of mental health, work-life balance, and doing work that aligns with their strengths and values. They’re not afraid to ask the tough questions: “What do I really want out of my career? How can I make an impact? Is this job truly fulfilling?” These are the kinds of conversations I love to have, and they’re the ones that Gen Z is eager to engage in, if approached in the right way.

Gen Z also brings a fresh perspective to the table. They’re innovative, tech-savvy, and aren’t afraid to push boundaries. Whether it’s rethinking traditional career paths or advocating for social justice, they’re always looking for ways to make a difference. This passion and drive are infectious, and it motivates me to give my best in every coaching session.

The Magic of Walking Sessions in Nature

Now, let’s talk about why I prefer to hold my coaching sessions outdoors, walking in nature. There’s a saying that goes, “When your feet move, your mind follows,” and I’ve found this to be incredibly true. Walking side by side, away from the confines of an office or a Zoom call, allows conversations to flow more naturally and openly. The rhythm of walking helps to clear the mind, making it easier to think creatively and critically.

Nature itself plays a crucial role in this process. There’s a growing body of research that shows the benefits of spending time in nature for mental health. It reduces stress, boosts mood, and enhances cognitive function. When we’re outside, surrounded by greenery, it’s easier to let go of distractions and focus on the bigger picture. This setting is particularly effective for Gen Z, who often juggle multiple responsibilities and experience the pressures of a fast-paced world.

Walking in nature also breaks down barriers. In a traditional office setting, the coach-client relationship can feel formal and, at times, intimidating. But when we’re walking side by side, it feels more like a partnership. We’re on this journey together, literally and figuratively. This dynamic encourages honesty and vulnerability, which are key to personal growth and effective coaching.

A Holistic Approach to Career Coaching

Combining my passion for working with Gen Z and my love for the outdoors has allowed me to create a coaching practice that’s holistic and transformative. It’s not just about helping my clients land a job or decide on a career path—it’s about helping them discover who they are, what they truly want, what's getting in their way and how they can align their work with their values.

My approach is tailored to the unique needs and strengths of Gen Z. By integrating nature into our sessions, we tap into the mental and emotional clarity that’s often needed to make big life decisions. It’s a process that’s both grounding and uplifting, and it’s one that I’m deeply committed to.

So, if you’re a Gen Z individual looking to navigate your career with purpose and passion, I invite you to join me on this journey. Let’s walk, talk, and discover your path together.
